Australian Democrazy is the blog of Year 8 Civics students at Caroline Chisholm Catholic College in Braybrook, Melbourne, Victoria. We have set up this blog in order to:
1). Gain a better understanding of how the 3 levels of government in Australia operate.
2). Report upon the events of local, state and federal election campaigns.
3). Raise our awareness of the influence that the media has on the political process.
While we will be conducting a lot of research, using the library and online resources to raise our awareness, we would also like to get a first-hand glimpse at politics, politicians and journalists. So if you’re a serving politician, candidate, secretary, consultant or journalist, we’d LOVE to talk to you about your work. You can do this in two ways:
1). Through a face-to-face meeting at our school.
2). Through a video interview – we’re very good at cutting together videos!
We are an apolitical blog and do not support any of the parties – we want to understand the process, not ideologies.
If you’re interested in becoming an interviewee, you can contact us in two ways – you can e-mail us at m.stuchbery@cccc.vic.edu.au or call us on 03 9296 5311, asking for Michael Stuchbery.
Thanks for taking time to read about us!
Regards,
The Year 8 Civics Class & Mr Stuchbery
